Answer #1:

Get a coordinating color of the dark red. Only much lighter. Then get a pearl glaze. Rag it. on. You need to mix the lighter shade and the pearl glaze. It is REALLY cool looking and it will blend with the white chair rail. Contrast with the dark furniture. Add texture.
