You haven't provided enough information to correctly answer the question. The first thing that comes to mind is why you would think this is illegal. What is the situation? Are you contractually obligated in some way to not alter the furniture, paint, drapes and rugs in the room?Answer #2:
What's the budget? You can, pretty much do what you THINK the customer want's, if it's within the budget, and you have their approval.Answer #3:
Interior Decorators can pick out furniture, wall color, etc, because those are only cosmetic features.
